It’s a traditional, very cheerful decor that brings light to places.
To add a touch of playfulness, I handmade a bunting birthday card using crochet lace.

Craft Supplies For Bunting Happy Birthday DIY Card

- Crochet lace
- Jute twine
- Washi tape

Step-by-Step Tutorial On How To Make a Bunting Happy Birthday DIY Card With Vintage Boho Chic
This bunting birthday card is pretty easy to make for everyone.
It doesn’t require glue or an advanced skill set.
You can easily make this type of card with your children.
Follow my tutorial to make this happy birthday card in less than 10 minutes.
Let’s get started!
1. Cut Crochet Lace Into Triangles
Important tip
Before cutting the crochet lace, bare in mind that you will be threading a jute twine through it later. Double-check the crochet pattern you have on your lace to make it work for you. Sometimes one edge of the lace is better for threading than the other.
For this project, I used crochet lace that is 1.5 inches (4 cm) wide.
My greeting card size is 5×7 inches, so I cut 3 triangles, each 2x2x2 inches (5x5x5 cm).
If you’re using a different size of a greeting card or narrower lace, make minor adjustments.
3. Thread Jute Twine
Cut 8 an 8-inch-long (20 cm) piece of jute twine.
Then, thread it through the crochet triangles.
You should have a small piece of bunting that we were looking for.
3. Attach The Bunting To The Card
Next, we must attach our small bunting to the card.
To do so, I used gold washi tape with a geometric pattern.
You can use different patterns and colors of the tape. It’s up to you.
Cut two pieces of tape approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) long.
If the washi tape doesn’t hold the bunting very well, use extra glue to stick it on the card.
4. Happy Birthday Stamp
I think this is a fun part of making the bunting birthday card.
Take a Happy Birthday stamp and an ink pad.
Apply ink onto the stamp.
As you can see in the picture, the bunting is stretched across the card, naturally curving in shape.
Use the space above to stamp “happy birthday”.
Your card is now ready to be given to someone special.
